ATS Resume Checker for Customer Service Representatives
Customer service openings attract hundreds of applicants each, so almost every employer screens them with an ATS. Our free checker scores your resume against the actual posting, shows which keywords you're missing, and helps you turn duties into results. It runs on your own device, with no sign-up.

How ATS screening works for customer service representatives
The screening is simple and strict. The ATS looks for the posting's channels (phone, chat, email), its tools (Zendesk, Salesforce, a phone system) and its core phrases: customer satisfaction, conflict resolution, call center. If those words are true of you and missing from your resume, you drop down the list.
Most customer service resumes say “answered customer calls.” Contact centers measure everything, so use their numbers: contacts handled a day, satisfaction score, first-contact resolution, handle time, quality scores. “Handled 70+ calls a day with a 94% CSAT” is a different resume from “answered phones.”
Keywords that matter on a customer service resume
Use the exact wording below where it’s true of you. An ATS matches words literally, not by meaning.
| Keyword | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Customer service / customer support | Use whichever phrase the posting uses, exactly |
| Customer satisfaction (CSAT) | The phrase and the acronym |
| Call center / contact center | A literal filter for phone-based roles |
| Zendesk / Salesforce / Freshdesk | Ticketing tools, by product name |
| Live chat / email / phone support | Name every channel you've worked |
| Conflict resolution / de-escalation | The most-requested soft skill, stated concretely |
| First-contact resolution | A metric you can also use as a keyword |
| Data entry / typing speed | Still listed in many postings; include your words per minute if it's good |
| Order processing / returns / billing | Task words specific to the employer's business |
| Bilingual (Spanish, French) | A strong filter where it's asked for; say which languages |
Three fixes that raise a customer service resume’s score
- Put your daily volume in the first bullet. “Resolved 60 to 80 phone and chat contacts a day.” It proves you can handle the pace.
- Add one satisfaction or quality number per job. CSAT, quality assurance score, first-contact resolution. If you never saw your numbers, use recognition: “Agent of the month, twice.”
- Name the systems. Ticketing tool, CRM, phone platform. Each is a keyword, and knowing their system means less training.
Questions
I worked in retail or restaurants. Does that count?
Yes. It's customer service, so describe it that way: customers served per shift, complaints resolved, upsells, register accuracy. Use the posting's phrases, such as “conflict resolution,” for what you did at the counter.
Does a remote customer service job change the resume?
Add what remote employers search for: “remote,” the tools you've used from home, typing speed, and a quiet, reliable setup if the posting asks. Mention any earlier remote work explicitly.
