ATS Resume Checker for Sales Representatives
Sales is the one profession where everyone agrees on the measure: quota. Yet plenty of sales resumes never mention it. Our free checker scores your resume against the actual posting, shows which keywords you're missing (CRM, methodology, segment), and flags bullets without numbers. It runs on your own device, with no sign-up.

How ATS screening works for sales representatives
Recruiters search the ATS for the shape of the job: SDR or account executive, inbound or outbound, SMB or enterprise, plus the CRM and the sales methodology. Those terms need to appear on your resume in the posting's own words. “B2B SaaS,” “Salesforce,” “cold calling,” “MEDDIC” and “full sales cycle” are all literal searches.
Then come the numbers. Quota attainment is the first thing a sales manager looks for, and its absence reads as bad news. Attainment percentage, ranking on the team, deal size, cycle length, pipeline generated. “Exceeded targets” is weak. “Closed $1.4M against a $1.1M quota (127%), ranked 2nd of 18 reps” is strong.
Keywords that matter on a sales representative resume
Use the exact wording below where it’s true of you. An ATS matches words literally, not by meaning.
| Keyword | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Quota attainment | The phrase and the percentage; both get searched |
| Salesforce / HubSpot CRM | CRM names are near-universal filters |
| Prospecting / cold calling / outbound | Core terms for SDR and BDR roles |
| Pipeline management | Shows you run a process, not just conversations |
| B2B / SaaS / enterprise sales | Segment words: match the posting's segment exactly |
| Full sales cycle / closing | The account executive differentiator |
| MEDDIC / Challenger / SPIN | Methodology names are literal keywords |
| Account management / upsell | For roles that carry existing accounts |
| Outreach / Salesloft / LinkedIn Sales Navigator | Sales engagement tools, easy matches |
| Negotiation / contract negotiation | Expected at mid-market level and above |
Three fixes that raise a sales representative resume’s score
- Put attainment in the first bullet of every job. “118% of quota in 2026; President's Club.” If a year was poor, give multi-year attainment or your ranking.
- State your deal size and cycle. “Average deal $45k, 60-day cycle, selling to VP-level buyers.” It shows recruiters you match the motion they're hiring for.
- Count the activity only in junior roles. Calls and emails per day matter for SDR jobs. For closing roles, replace them with revenue, win rate and pipeline.
Questions
What if I missed quota?
Show what you can stand behind: ranking against the team, growth year over year, largest deal, new logos won, pipeline built. Never invent attainment figures. Sales managers check references, and they ask about exactly this.
How do I move from SDR to account executive?
Lead with anything close to closing: deals you sourced that closed, demos you ran, small accounts you closed yourself. Use the account executive posting's vocabulary to describe it.
